Jag och min Alzheimer

Jag har fått en Alzheimers diagnos (Kod F002/F018). Här publicerar jag texter i ett försök att bygga en faktasamling om sjukdomen. Konkurrensen är tyvärr inte stor.

What I want with this site. Draft of a statement.

When one is afflicted by a neurodegenerative disease like Alzheimer's, one is expected to step into the role of a passive care recipient. There are forums for family support and clinical information – but fewer places written from within the experience of living with the disease while still wanting to understand, influence, and fight. I want to show others that active resistance is possible.

This site is not a place for resignation. It is an attempt to build a digital fortress – a cognitive tool and a form of active resistance against slowly losing abilities.

My work rests on four pillars:

A Living Laboratory I follow research, try to understand new findings, and apply what appears biologically plausible in my own daily life. Not as evidence-based medicine – but as a conscious, open, and documented attempt to live as wisely as possible.

A Societal Critique Healthcare and societal systems are human constructs – and human constructs can be improved. When bureaucracy, ingrained thought patterns, or organizational obstacles stand in the way, I want to write about it. Not to dismiss healthcare, but to contribute to making it better.

The Personal Aspect Behind texts, analyses, and reasoning lies my own daily life. Here I write not just about Alzheimer's – but from within the experience of living with the disease while simultaneously trying to continue orienting myself in the world. With technology, programming, and structure, I build external memory aids to be able to continue creating meaning and context.

AI-Assisted Cognitive Augmentation I am not content with merely trying to preserve what remains. I use modern technology to expand what I can still do. Through AI, digital tools, writing, and external memory systems, I build a digital extension of my own thinking. Not to replace the brain – but to support it, relieve it, and make it possible to continue understanding, creating, and contributing longer than I otherwise would have been able to.

This is Me and My Alzheimer's.

An attempt to create a knowledge-driven site from a brain that is changing – but which still thinks, builds, questions, and wants to share.
