AI has become my lifeline after receiving an Alzheimer's diagnosis
# In my treatment plan, I highlight something I call a meaning-making project.;
The brain responds most strongly to coherent, long-term engagement – not to isolated activities. Therefore, my main project is a central part of my treatment plan.
Why a meaning-making project?
Research shows that cognitive stimulation that is meaningful, social, and structured has a stronger effect on the brain's resilience than passive entertainment or random exercises. A project that requires planning, problem-solving, and communication activates multiple brain regions simultaneously.
My project: This knowledge base
I have chosen to build this website – a knowledge base about living with Alzheimer's – as my main project. It gives me:
Cognitive stimulation
- Writing articles requires research, structuring, and formulation
- Technical problem-solving (web design, AI tools)
- Continuous learning about my disease
Social connection
