I haven’t been as personal as you might expect on a site like this. I’m going to change that now, starting by publishing a summary of my medical records (!). The summary was put together by ChatGPT, which easily processed over 100 pages of medical notes. I’m afraid, though, that it interpreted everything a little too positively—many AI systems are programmed that way.

The Alzheimer’s Diagnosis and the Reassessment
In March 2025, I was diagnosed with mixed dementia, involving both Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia, at Närhälsan Dalsjöfors.
My medical records run to more than 100 pages. I asked Chat GPT to summarise them, and here is the result.

The diagnosis was based on Sten’s memory problems, cognitive tests and a CT scan of his brain. The CT scan showed moderate to pronounced changes in the brain’s white matter, suggesting damage related to blood vessels. Shrinkage of brain tissue was also noted, particularly in the right temporal lobe. These changes may be consistent with Alzheimer’s, but do not in themselves prove the presence of the disease.
How Has Sten’s Memory Changed?
Between December 2024 and April 2026, his results on the simpler memory tests were relatively stable. Sten repeatedly scored 27 out of 30 on the MMSE memory test.
In August 2026, his score had fallen slightly, to 25.
The comprehensive neuropsychological assessment at the Memory Clinic in Gothenburg in September 2026 provided a more nuanced picture.
Sten had some difficulties with memory, attention and planning. He found it particularly difficult to recall information without prompting after a delay and to switch quickly between tasks.
At the same time, several abilities remained well preserved. Sten had a good memory for stories, a very good ability to recognise previously presented words and largely normal language skills.
